Welcome to the Feral Kitty blog! Join me as I share my experiences and journey of taking care of our cats and ferals in the neighborhood. Discover how this rewarding and challenging endeavor can make a positive impact on the community. From full-time dedication to overcoming overwhelming moments, I strive to make the lives of these cats better by providing them with food, shelter, and love when they need it most.

Rise and Shine: Morning Meditation with the Neighborhood Feral Kitties

Every morning, I love getting up early to feed the feral kitties in my neighborhood. It's become a cherished ritual that gets my day started on the right foot, or should I say paw!

As the sun begins to peek over the horizon, I quietly slip out of the house, a bag of cat food in hand. The world is still and peaceful at this hour, the perfect time for some solitary reflection and meditation. But I'm never truly alone - the kitties are always waiting for me.

I've gotten to know quite a few of these unique felines over time. Some of them are polydactyl, meaning they have extra toes - usually seven or eight instead of the usual five or six. It's always a delight to see their oversized paws padding towards me.

As I make my rounds, sneaking between bushes and into hidden spots, I spot their bright eyes and hear their eager mews. I scatter some food and watch them happily crunch away, their tails held high. It warms my heart to care for these independent yet appreciative creatures.

After my morning route, I return home to my own kitties. My girlfriend and I have a bunch of polydactyls as well, and we dedicate ourselves to keeping them happy and healthy. It's a full-time job, but it's a labor of love.

We start by giving them fresh bedding and changing their litter boxes. Then, it's playtime! They race around the kitchen, knocking things over and making a mess, but their joy is infectious. We can't help but laugh at their antics.

Of course, no day is complete without plenty of pets and snuggles. Our kitties purr contentedly as we stroke their soft fur and scratch behind their ears. These moments of connection are priceless.

Caring for kitties, both feral and domestic, has become an integral part of our daily life. It takes dedication and hard work, but the rewards are endless. The love and companionship they offer is a true gift, and we feel lucky to be their guardians.

So here's to all the cat lovers out there, whether you're feeding ferals or snuggling with your own furry friends. Keep spreading that kindness and compassion - the kitties surely appreciate it!
